When a child is registered with Rudgwick Pre-school parents must complete and sign a Registration, Terms & Conditions and Consent Forms.

All children receive funding from the County Council from the term after their 3rd birthday. Exact birth dates for those eligible are published by the County Council and given to the pre-school.  Funding is received per child per hour attended and is dependant on the Free Entitlement Parent Declaration Form being completed. Funding is given on the days specified on the Declaration Form and are not interchangeable.  At Rudgwick Pre-school this covers 38 weeks per year (equivalent to school term times) that the pre-school is open.

There are two types of free childcare for your 3 or 4 year old:

  • Universal free childcare - For all 3 and 4 year olds. Children can use up to 570 hours each year, up to a maximum of 15 hours over 38 weeks. A child moving to reside in England from another country is entitled to universal free childcare on the same basis as any other child, regardless of whether they have British citizenship.

  • Extended free childcare (also known as 30 hours' free childcare) - For eligible working parents of 3 and 4 year olds (see How to apply for free childcare for full eligibility criteria). Children can use an additional 570 hours each year, up to a maximum of 30 hours per week over 38 weeks (1,140 hours each year). Parents must apply online through the Childcare Choices website. If eligible you will receive a 30 hours free childcare code.

All FE funding may be used across county borders, and across multiple FE registered providers. This must be declared on the Declaration Form and held by each provider being used.   All hours over and above this will be invoiced at the agreed rate per hour.

Rudgwick Pre-school closes for 5 INSET days per year in line with Rudgwick Primary School.

At Rudgwick Pre-School we benefit from some additional activities (please see website for further details).  If your child attends on an activity day, then an additional charge will show on your invoice to cover part of this cost.

We support and accept all voucher schemes – further details available on request.

Payments are half termly due at the start of each term.

Payment can be made by direct transfer via Online Banking. Contact Pre-School for other methods of payment.

Unfortunately, we cannot waiver fees for any child absent through ill health or holidays.

Any queries/difficulties regarding payment of fees please feel free to speak, in complete confidence, to Mrs Brown, Supervisor or Pre-School Financial Officer (financeteamrps@gmail.com)
